Eric Schmoldt of the Casper Star Tribune has posted on his twitter account that Cowboys starting QB Austyn Carta-Samuels did not travel with the team to Dallas this weekend. Wyoming has not released any statement on Carta-Samuels and Schmoldt has been unable to reach Coach Christensen for a comment.
The team closed off the media to practice this weekend so there were no reports of who was practicing this week and who was injured. Against Toledo ACS did get banged up and may have injured his hand. There was no mention of the injury by Christensen during his press conferences this week.
Losing the starting QB is a huge blow for any team but when you are facing a team like TCU then it means that things may turnout down right ugly.
UPDATE*** - Schmoldt has now posted an article confirming that Austyn Carta-Samuels will miss the TCU game. Looks like Dax Crum will be the man.
If it turns out that Carta-Samuels is not with the team then that means Senior Dax Crum would get his first start since 2008. Crum has appeared in two games this season at the end of big losses to Texas and Boise State. He has gone 4 for 7 passing and totaled 39 yards. Crum appeared in seven games in 2008 with season totals of 429 yards, 2 touchdowns and six interceptions.
I've already alerted the Scott Van Pelt Show that the "Wild Crum" could be on full display tomorrow in all it's glory. True freshman Emory Miller would assume the backup role behind Crum. Miller has not played this year and hopefully the Pokes wouldn't have to burn his redshirt for just a few snaps.
