If anyone is thinking of opening up a German restaurant in Laramie then 2011 would be a great time to open up shop.  Wyoming continued their international recruiting by landing Alex Borgs a 6-1 220lb LB out of Dusseldorf, Germany this week. Last year he was named the Defensive MVP for the German National team.

He is the second Wyoming commit this year and third in two years from Germany.  Back in October the Pokes signed Borgs's countrymen Mark Nzeocha who will play safety next year.

News of the commitment was confirmed by Rivals ($$). The great news about Borgs is that he will be able to enroll this January and will have four years of eligibility.  This is great bonus towards learning the system and getting adjusted to college life.  He will be able to participate in spring drills and practice and spend time with Oliver Schober the only current Wyoming player from Germany.

After the jump check out more info and a couple highlight videos for Borgs.

Rivals reported his weight as 203 but his most recent video lists it as 220.  I like the sound of 220 much better.  Wyoming now has nine commits for the 2011 season.  There is no ranking yet for Borgs since he is an international player.  Will post an update once more Cowboy commits receive their rankings.

Looks like he has great instinct in run defense and does a great job of tackling the ball carrier.

Here is the shorter recruiting video for Borgs.  All from the 2009 season.
