MWC All Conference Team Announced, Pokes Place Two on 2nd Team

The Mountain West Conference (MWC) has announced the 2010 MWC All Conference Team and both offensive and defensive Players of the Year play for the TCU Horned Frogs. Senior TCU quarterback Andy Dalton was named offensive player of the year while his Horned Frog teammate, junior linebacker Tank Carder was named defensive player of the year.

Dalton is only the second player in league history to win back-to-back offensive player of the years honors. On the season Dalton ranks first in the MWC and fifth nationally in pass efficiency with a 167.0 rating. With an average of 219.8 passing yards per game Dalton ranks fourth in the MWC and 46th in the FBS, Dalton has also rushed for 407 yards in 2010.

On the defensive side of the ball Carder is the third TCU player to win the defensive player of the year in the past three seasons. Carder earned it this season by notching 54 tackles 2.5 sacks and has broken up five passes. Carder is also the anchor of a defense that ranks first nationally in total defense.

TCU did not end with just offensive and defensive players of the year as senior Jeremy Kerley was named special team’s player of the year that gave TCU 3 of the top 4 All-Conference Honors. Freshman of the Year went to running back Ronnie Hillman of Sand Diego State. While Hillman's coach Brady Hoke was named coach of the year.

The Wyoming Cowboys placed two players on the second team; they were senior defensive back Chris Prosinski and junior defensive lineman Josh Biezuns.

Alvester Alexander, Nick Carlson, Tashaun Gipson, Brian Hendricks, Gabe Knapton and Austin McCoy all were MWC honorable mentions.
