This quote comes from the father of Brett Smith who is the latest QB recruit for Wyoming. This is not a controversial statement and it shouldn't be blown out of proportion. Coach Christensen has always played the athlete who earns the playing time and not based on their age or seniority. Nehemie Kankalongo got a ton of reps last spring at RB but it was Alvester Alexander who held onto his starting job in the Fall and had a solid season. Competition is a good thing and will push all the players to perform their best. Smith is enrolling this winter and the Pokes will give him a chance to show his stuff in the spring. Austyn Carta-Samuels will also have a chance to show why he has been the starter the last two years. I would also expect redshirt freshmen Emory Miller to also see some time with the first unit.
