Well the Cowboys (4-6) got the W despite the ugly effort over the Fighting Walt Whitmans.  The first half was one filled with downright ugly basketball with Wyoming leading 24-16.  Things opened up further in the second half but Wyoming maintained their lead throughout the game.  The two teams combined for 24 turnovers in the first half alone.

With this solid performance for Denver (2-9) they secured themselves a great future member of the WAC conference.  The Pioneers grabbed just 13 rebounds as a team.  They hit only sixteen shots as a team and ten of those were three pointers.  If they would have struggled from behind the arc this game would have turned into a Globetrotter versus Generals type situation.  Wyoming now leads the series 17-5 and has all four of it's victories at home.

The Cowboys were led by Desmar Jackson who scored all 16 of his points in the first half.  Amath M'Baye had nine of his 11 points in the first half and kept the Cowboys ahead.  Djibril Thiam and JayDee Lester both added 10 points a piece.  Wyoming shot 50% from the field and went 24 of 30 from the free throw line.  Jackson and Lester were both aggressive in driving towards the basket and paid off.  Both players got to the line often and converted those opportunities.

Wyoming will go for win #5 on Friday against Division 2 Western State.  Following that is another home against winless Centenary.  These both look like wins so the Pokes should be back at .500 here within a week.

Cowboy Joe:  Desmar Jackson had an incredibly strong second half to ensure the victory tonight.  His 16 points led the way and went 6 of 8 on free throws.

Cowboy Low:  Francisco Cruz played fifteen minutes only managed to take one shit which he missed.  The Cowboys only attempted four three pointers as a team but Cruz can make jumpers.  He just didn't try and shoot tonight.

Cowboy Foe: Travis Hallam hit five three pointers and two free throws for 17 points.  Without his solid shooting this game would have turned ugly.
