Some light reading for you before the Cowboys and Longhorns tangle in Austin this afternoon.
K Ian Watts (#51 pictured above) is set to resume his field goal kicking duties after missing the first game due to a one game suspension. Austin McCoy handled the duties last week but did not have any attempts. Just the facts that Watts is back out there gives me a good feeling. He is far and away the better kicker and is very accurate going 12 of 15 last year and was perfect from 39 yards or less. If his leg strength can improve this year that will give the Cowboys an even stronger "special forces" this year.
RB Nehemie Kankolongo is also set to make his Cowboy debut against the 'Horns. Listed at third on the depth chart there is no guarantee he will get many carries. Alvester Alexander had 13 carries as the #1 back and James Davis the other two. Hopefully "Kongo" will get a few touches and the running game shows some improvement this week.
With the return of Kongo freshman Robert Herron has been moved back to WR according to most recent depth chart. Last week Herron had no carries but did have one catch for four yards. Herron is now listed as backup to Mazi Ogbonnaat the #3WR spot. Herron is also paired with Zach Bolger as the #2 tandem for kickoff returns.
The game is being broadcast on Fox Sports but this is creating a conflict with FSN Rocky Mountain due to a previously scheduled Rockies game. The network has worked with cable providers in Wyoming, Colorado and other nearby states to allow fans to watch the game live. Check out the alternative channels available here, also the game will be rebroadcast on FSN at Midnight MST.

- If you live in Gillette, WY or Arvada, CO and had your lawn gnome stolen you should contact the Gillette Police Department. A couple teenage girls were busted for theft and over a hundred lawn gnomes were recovered. Not sports related but at least justice was served!
