Falcons Soar in Win Over Cowboys

Air Force Academy, CO – The Air Force Falcons easily played their best game of the season Saturday as the rolled to a 72-51 home win over the Wyoming Cowboys.

Behind 56.5% shooting from the field and having four players in double figures the Falcons improved to 11-7 overall on the season and to 2-3 in the MWC. The loss the third straight for the Cowboys dropped them to 8-11 on the season and 1-4 in the MWC.

Michael Lyons scored all of his game-high 17 points in the first half Saturday and teammate Tom Fow added 14.

Trailing by 13 at the half the Cowboys would cut the lead to seven early in the second half but that was all they could cut it to as the Falcons played a complete game hitting 11-19 three-pointers in the game.

Amath M’Baye led the way for The Pokes with 13 while Francisco Cruz added 10 in the loss.

For the Falcons two more players had double figures in points, Todd Fletcher had 13 points and Evan Washington had 11 points and nine assists.

The Cowboys will be back in action Tuesday January 25 at 8:00 p.m. mountain time. They will welcome UNLV to the AA looking to snap their current three game losing streak.
