After a big victory over the weekend Wyoming got more good news on the recruiting front. Christian Chamagua a 6-6 290lb offensive committed to Wyoming on Monday. He took an official visit to Wyoming back on October 15th. Chamgua received interest from Rice and Texas A&M and is rated two stars by Scout and Rivals. Wyoming now sits at four verbals for the 2012 class and two of those are offensive linemen. This is the first commit from Texas for 2012, last year the Cowboys landed nine recruits from the Lone Star State.
Obviously his size and frame are impressive but it looks like Wyoming got a steal with Chamagua. His highlight video is posted after the jump and two things out at me: his footwork and his motor. He moves laterally very well and does a great job of protecting the pocket. He also has good turnover with his feet and can block down field. I've watched the highlight tape of every Wyoming offensive linemen recruit the last two years and usually they aren't overly impressive. I would certainly rank this near the top of the bunch.
They don't show you on the tape where he is lined up but usually it is at right tackle. Look for biggest guy (#71) on the offensive line and you will be in good shape. Hopefully November will be a strong month for recruiting. The staff has had two bye weeks to hit the road and get kids in for visits.
There are certainly a number of spots to fill for this recruiting class still but it is starting to take shape.
