Here are our awards and highlights from 36-14 loss to Boise State.
Cowboy Joe:Luke Anderson gave the Cowboys the spark they needed with a pick six early in the game. It certainly shocked the Broncos who were stunned afterwards.
Honorable Mention:Austin McCoy pinned Boise State deep in their own territory twice and really helped the Cowboys win the field position battle in the first half.
Cowboy Low: This was not the best game of Brett Smith's career. He had been performing at such a high level eventually there would be a dropoff. He completed 68% of his passes but only totaled 78 yards. He was off his game with the medium and long range passes. A fumble in Bronco territory lost a scoring opportunity and he was picked off in the third quarter. The Cowboys needed to win the turnover battle and they didn't this game.
Cowboy Foe:Doug Martin the muscle hamster was solid the entire game. He rushed 26 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns. He was particularly tough on third downs and extended several drives with key runs.
