Here is a mighty big stocking stuffer for you Cowboy fans. While the University hasn't announced it yet, we can confirm that Wyoming has landed a very large offensive linemen that will be enrolling this next semester. Standing at 6-7 320lbs Connor Rains from American River College brings plenty to the table.
Rains played tackle for the ARC Beavers who finished 11-0 this year. Wyoming also recruited his teammate LB Terry Easmon but didn't offer. Easmon ended up signing with Western Michigan. Rains will have three years available to play two seasons. So he can use a redshirt in 2012 if needed.
Currently no recruiting service has graded him yet. Rains is originally from Shingle Springs, CA where he attended Ponderosa HS. To see tons of video footage on Rains check out this link. We have his highlights from his freshmen year posted after the jump.
Rains certainly looks like a powerful run blocker and should help replace some of the size lost on the line. Wyoming is losing three seniors that saw plenty of action on the line this year: Clayton Kirven, Brandon Self and John Hutchins.
Rains wears # 77.
