Wyoming QB Emory Miller Leaves For Personal Reason

Robert Gagliardi of the Laramie Boomerang has confirmed with the University of Wyoming that RS Freshman Emory Miller will not be returning to Laramie this fall due to personal reasons.   Message boards lit up yesterday with the information that Miller may be leaving.

No official announcement yet has been released from the University of Wyoming but it surely won't elaborate on the reasons why Miller was leaving.  There may be a serious illness in his family that requires him to be home with them.  Never would wish something like this upon anyone if it is true.  Wish the best for Emory and his family now and in the future.

Here is a video of  Miller after signing with UW out of Horn HS in Mesquite, TX.

Despite never playing an official down of football at UW, Miller was a player that I liked.  He wore #11 which is my favorite number so that got him off to a good start.  He was under-recruited out of high school but was a great person during his time in Laramie.  He certainly has a bright future wherever he lands.

This news means the QB battle at Wyoming got even smaller.  Miller was named as a co starter with true freshman Brett Smith after spring drills.  This leaves Smith as the #1 QB heading into fall and fellow true freshman Adam Pittser as the big contender.  Walk-on Josh Smith is now the third QB on the roster.

Wyoming recently offered JC QB Cody Sokol out of Scottsdale CC.  He is already academically qualified and it will be interesting to see if he comes to Laramie this fall instead of enrolling in a school in December.
