Sometimes the best way to get basketball scheduling news is from your opponents.  The University of Wyoming has made no official announcement of their 2011/12 basketball schedule and it most likely won't be unveiled until later in the summer.  Some schools announce their schedules earlier and now you can officially make plans for FridayDecember 16th.

According to the KSFY out of Sioux Falls, SD the University of Sioux Falls will be coming to Wyoming on December 16th.

After games at Valley City State University and at home against Crown College, the Cougars will travel to Laramie, Wyo. to play the University of Wyoming on Friday, Dec. 16th. UW is a NCAA Division I institution that competes in the Mountain West Conference.

The Sioux Falls Cougars just made the move from the NAIA to Division II.   In 2011-12 they will play as independent before joining the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in 2012-13.  Last year they finished 24-9 and made it to the first round of the NAIA tournament.

When discussing the schedule Shyatt has mentioned that the Pokes would be playing one non division one opponent and here it is.  There is a big difference between NAIA/D2 and D1 basketball so it should be similar to recent games against D3 Kean University and NAIA Peru State that have happened the last two years.  Expect a blowout with plenty of scoring opportunities for the new players on the team.

Almost all of the new basketball recruits should be on campus by now.  Lekan Ajayi should arrive tomorrow and Derrious Gilmore may still be finishing up a class before heading to Laramie.
