The wait is finally over here Cowboy recruiting followers. After months of waiting Wyoming has finally landed their first verbal commitment for the 2012 football class. The recruit is from a far away yet avery familar place for those who have paid attention to Wyoming's last couple recruiting classes.
The German pipeline has paid off again with WR/DB Eric Nzeocha who plays for the Franken Knights commiting to Wyoming today. Eric is the younger brother of current freshman Wyoming OLB Mark Nzeocha. He is now fourth German player to commit to Wyoming in the last two years: Oliver Schober in 2010 and then Mark Nzeocha and Alex Borgs in 2011.
One of Coach Christensen's former players coaches in Germany and their relationship has allowed for so many foreign players to play in Laramie. There is not a ton of information on Eric available online except his position. The website for his team the Franken Knights does not list height or weight information.
Mark is definetly larger then his younger brother but the great news is that they share the same genes. Mark is a physical beast and during the spring he went from being the third string safety to being the co-starter at outside linebacker. Mark as four years of eligibility so Eric will have the same since he is younger.
There is also a third Nzeocha brother named Paul who also plays for the Franken Knights.. So perhaps the Nzeocha family will have an additional future Cowboy down the road. The biggest sense of relief is that the class of 2012 has finally started now. This is the latest that Wyoming has waited for it's first commit under Christensen. That could be a combination of going after better athletes who can take longer to commit and coming off a 3-9 season.
