Austyn Carta-Samuels Ends Up At Arizona. Or Not...

Several weeks ago it seemed like former Wyoming QB Austyn Carta-Samuels was close to choosing a new school.  He had visited Vanderbilt and narrowed his choices down to three schools.  After that the trail of news went silent.  With fall football practices starting this week across the country it seemed like finally word would leak out of whichschool he enrolled.

This morning the Tucson Citizen reported that Carta-Samuels name waslisted on the check-in sheet of new players that would be playing football at Arizona this year.  While his name was there, there was no sign of him anywhere on campus.

Former Wyoming starting quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels, the 2009 Mountain West Freshman of the Year, was listed on UA’s check-in sheet, although he had not reported as of 11 a.m. There was no confirmation that he would actually show up, so the possibility should be taken with several grains of salt.

Then later Ryan Finlay of the Arizona Star stated on his twitter acount:

Not so fast on the Austyn Carta-Samuels talk: hearing Wyoming transfer will NOT end up with #ArizonaWildcats
So there we have that interesting piece of news.  His name was on the list to check in but he won't end up Arizona.  Seems like the Wilcats are stacked at future QB's anyways with Rutgers Transfer Tom Savage, true freshman Daxx Garman, and perhaps Matt Scott if he redshirts this year.
No alternate destinations have been listed so far.  Alas, the saga continues I guess....
