Game Day Forecast: Anything Goes

Ready for some Wyoming weather? This will certainly be an interesting homecoming and football game thanks to the weather. There will be wind, rain and snow for the homecoming parade.

There is already about and inch of snow on the ground and high winds to boot. As fans woke up this morning they were surprised by the amount of snowfall that happened over night. That will make things very interesting for the days festivities.

Kickoff is not until 5pm so there is plenty that can happen over the course of the day. Current temps are 36 degrees (feels like 28).

Around noon things should have warmed up to 46 degrees and the rain should die down for a bit. Don't expect much of a respite as showers are expected to start up again around three o'clock and last till seven. The forecast is expected be about 52 degrees at kickoff and only drop a bit during the game.

With a slushy rain/snow mixture it will make for interesting conditions on the field. The run game could be challenged for both teams. It could also make it more difficult for Air Force to pull off their triple option attack. We'll see how Wyoming's receivers handle trying to catch a wet football.

Wyoming To Debut Digital Camo Uniforms This Weekend

The big uniform news for the Cowboys this summer was team's first camo uniform. It features a digital camo on the shoulders, Steamboat logo and two stripes on the leg. This is definitely the most controversial uniform that Nike has designed for the Cowboys. The new uniforms got a very mixed response and several outlets called them among the worst of the new uniforms this year.

There was no initial announcement of when the new uniforms would actually be worn. It figured the game with Air Force would make the most sense and we were right.

I don't mind the camo, the gray is honestly what throws me off. It is such a light gray and it will be strange to have the home team wearing such light uniforms. Interested to see the Falcons wear this weekend. They've grown quite the collection of uniforms of the last three years.

It is also Military Appreciation Day at War Memorial. With the way this season has gone, the team can wear pink and purple as long it means they get a victory.

Falcons Edge Is Shrinking

When the odds for Wyoming and Air Force were released on Sunday the Falcons had a decent spread at 5.5 points. That number has now shrunk down to just 2.5 points in two days.

One reason for the change may have been questions about the availability of Brett Smith. After he was ejected from the Nevada game there was a possibility that he could have missed additional playing time. The Mountain West reviewed the situation and decided that there was no additional action needed. Losing Smith for any portion of the game would have severely hurt the Pokes chances at keeping close in this game.

Last week Wyoming nearly beat Nevada despite being a 16.5 point underdog. They were able to control the powerful running game of the Wolf Pack. Now they will try and contain the Falcons triple option and the nation's new leading rusher Cody Getz. The Cowboys helped Getz to take the national rushing leader spot by limiting former leader Stefphon Jefferson to 78 yards.

Last year Wyoming broke Air Force's five year win streak in the series. Wyoming gave up 325 rushing yards to Cal Poly who runs the triple option as well. Will that practice help the Cowboys this weekend?
