Wyoming recruiting continues to strike GOLD in Colorado.
For the second straight day the Cowboys had a commitment from a Colorado product. Taylor Knestis a 6-5 280lb OL from Lakewood HS verbally committed to Coach Christensen on Thursday. GoWyoGo.com first reported the news last night. Knestis is from the same high school as current RFr Wyoming OL Jake Jones. I'm sure the connection between Jones and Knestis played a role in the commitment. Lakewood went to the Class 5A championship game last year and is consistently a strong program.
Currently there is no official rating for Knestis from any recruiting service. Here are some video highlights we found complete with Slim Shady background music.
While he is undersized at the moment, with a 6-5 frame Knestisshould able to add weight easily. Wyoming has given lots of freshmen the chance to play right away but not with linemen. I would expect a redshirt year in 2013 to help add that needed weight and learn the system. After watching the video highlights it was great to see some nice mobility and quickness. He didn't give up on any plays and did a nice job on pass protection.
Wyoming is now up to five commitments for 2013 including three from Colorado. At this time last year the Cowboys only had one commitment.
