2013 DT Dalton Fields (Pine Creek HS, CO) Picks Wyoming

Wyoming recruiting is on a major hot streak lately.

The Cowboy landed their third commitment from the state of Colorado in the last week. They also filled up some help in the trenches at the same time. Dalton Fields a 6-3 270lb DT from Pine Creek HS in Colorado Springs verbally committed to Wyoming on Monday. Fields is rated two stars by Rivals and the Pokes now have the top two defensive tackles from Colorado committed for 2013.

The first tipoff came from fellow Wyoming commit James Diamanti. He plays DT for Grand Junction and said that he was going to talk to Fields about choosing Wyoming. Looks like things worked out well as GoWyoGo confirmed the commitment later in the evening.

Here is some video footage of Fields from his junior year.

Right now at 270lbs he would need to gain some weight. He certainly has time to do that over the next year. Great to see Wyoming solidify the defensive tackle spot so quickly this year. The Cowboys are losing three seniors after this year. Wyoming has done a fantastic job at finding defensive tackles from Colorado.

The recent group includes: Mike Purcell, Patrick Mertens, Tyler Strong and John Fletcher. What makes this news even better is that Fields chose Wyoming over CSU.
