No major news out of Cowboys football camp today. That is certainly good news as the opening practice started on a down note with two players lost. Check out this video with a few drills and a really nice run by Brett Smith. Love watching him run the ball, when he decides to tuck the ball and run he commits himself fully to the run and it pays off. His split second decision making on the field is very impressive.
Smith is also very happy with how far ahead the offense is this year.
"Compared to last spring, last fall camp and this spring we are far beyond where we were in installing our offense," he said. "It took us a while to get things down. We hit the ground running (Monday) and today was good, too. I feel like I have a lot of chemistry with the guys and the receivers out there."
"What I love and I know the team loves, is that we install it, we already knew it and we’ve blown through it a high level."
Seems like things are clicking on the offensive side. Great to see them get a quick start this season.
Wyoming LB commit Ryan Anaya of Natrona County started football practice at 12:01 AM on Monday morning. That was the earliest possible moment a team could start practicing in Wyoming. Neat tradition that started in 2010.
Looks like a little more coach shuffling happening right now.
A note in today's story for tomorrow: Jason Ray is no longer coaching running backs. He's moved to receivers. Pete Kaligis is w/ RBs.— Ben Frederickson (@Ben_Fred) August 8, 2012
