Seniors will get a chance to impress NFL scouts that are in attendance.
No Wyoming football players were invited to the NFL combine that took place in Indianapolis last week. Still they will have a chance to make an impression next when Wyoming hosts it's Pro Day on March 14th in the Rochelle Weight Room and Indoor Practice Facility.
Here is the listed schedule of events for the pro day.
Schedule of Testing
9:30 a.m. Rochelle Athletics Center Weight Room: 225-Pound Bench Press Test
10:30 a.m. Indoor Practice Facility: Vertical Jump, Standing Long Jump, 40-Yard Dash,
3-Cone Test, I-Test, 60-Yard Shuttle, Specific Position Testing
There should be a designated area where fans can observe the testing. Look for an official announcement from the school next week.
This is a huge opportunity for those who are trying to make it to the next level. The chances of a Cowboy having their name called during the NFL in April is slim. That doesn't mean they can't make it in the league. Signing a deal as an undrafted free agent can oftentimes be better than someone taken in the sixth of seventh round. They'll likely have a number of offers available to choose from. That will allow them to find the best situation and sign with the best team for them.
Tashaun Gipson wasn't drafted last year but signed with the Cleveland Browns. After a strong camp he ended up appearing in 10 games including 3 starts. Wyoming has a strong tradition of free agents making it in the NFL.
