Wyoming Vs Hawaii Rated 52nd Best College Football Game Of 2013

Troy Babbitt-USA TODAY Sports

Overtime victory gains recognition.

Bill Connelly of SB Nation spent a ton of time compiling the best 100 games of the 2013 college football season. This is a beautifully designed page that you should definitely spend some time reviewing.  It is a great way to remember all of the craziness that took place over the last five months.

The Mountain West actually notched all the games ranked 56-51.  Wyoming's 59-56 overtime victory came in at 52 in Connelly's list.

This game was all about offense with a combined 1,417 yards and 115 points.  Brett Smith set school and Mountain West records with eight touchdowns and 640 yards of offense.  Robert Herron caught 11 passes for 147 yards and four touchdowns.

Every score was answered and neither team was able to pull away.  The track meet ended up heading to overtime with each team at 56 points.  That is when the defense finally factored in for Wyoming.  The Warriors had the first possession and drove down to the Wyoming four yard line.  Jordan Stanton stuffed the ball carrier on 3rd and 1,  then Devyn Harris did the same thing on 4th and 1.

Wyoming took over and drove to the 18 yard line of Hawaii.  Stuart Williams drilled a 36 yard field goal to give the Pokes the victory.  This was a renewal of an old WAC rivalry and Wyoming was able to keep the new Paniolo trophy.
