UW Senior Associate AD Kevin McKinney did an interview on KFBC this afternoon and a big topic was additional football games being broadcast this year. He says it is likely that most of the conference home games will be picked up and they are in negotiations with regional stations like Root Sports and Altitude. McKinney expected broadcast times and channels to be finalized by late June or early July. Click on the link for the full interview. It will only be posted for a couple days as they don't keep an archive of audio interviews. The home conference games are: Boise State, CSU, Air Force and San Diego State. Boise is already set for CBS Sports. Hope they can televise all three remaining conference games and make something work with Toledo. Missing the Cal Poly game wouldn't be the end of the world. For road games it is up to the host team to work out broadcast deals.
Three Colorado State football players that were charged with disorderly conduct after a street brawl have been expelled from the school. Coach McElwain says that Mike Orakpo, Nordly Capri and Colton Paulhaus will never play for the Rams again.
Mike Orakpo, Nordly Capi, and Colton Paulhus were all expelled from CSU.
I'm late linking to this but on Tuesday night Jeremy Mauss of Mountain West Connection was kind enough to have me as a guest on his podcast. We discussed several topics including: The loss of the Mtn, Wyoming spring football, CSU Ram troubles and the top teams in the Mountain West for 2012. Give it a listen and let me know what you think. I had to call in on my cellphone so it's not the greatest sound quality. Hope you like it.
If Lehigh or Norfolk State ruined your bracket then you now have a chance to redeem yourself. I created a second chance group so this time you can prove that you really are a genius. It just deals with the Sweet 16 teams to make things easier. GROUP ID: 11895 PASSWORD: gopokes

So the results were tabulated and apparantly my use of "reverse alphabetical" doesn't mesh well with other voters. All the votes are tabulated and the outliers are pointed out and shunned. My ballot took home titles for: Mr. Bold (highest average error), Coulter/Kos Award (Highest Bias), and Highest Swing (Biggest Difference over previous ballot). Sadly my effort was only able to net Wyoming a #33 overall ranking. Click on the link to see how it all breaks down.
The Wyoming wrestling program has been impressive the last several years under coach Mark Branch. They may had their biggest moment under Branch last night by defeating the #9 Oklahoma Sooners. This was the first ever victory for the Cowboys over the Sooners and happens just two days after the Pokes fell to Oklahoma State 24-17. This team certainly deserves more attention for the success they've had. If you're interested in covering Wyoming Wrestling for Cowboy Altitude please send me an email. Video highlights of the dual are available here.
Wyoming beat writer Robert Gagliardi and Temple beat writer Keith Pompey answer questions about their teams and there is a preview and a pick
Jeremy from Mountain West Connection had me on his podcast last night and we chatted about the New Mexico Bowl. Check it out folks.
