A look at technology Part 2: Android App Edition
Why do you love me? Why do you need me? Always and forever... We met in a chat room, now our love can fully bloom... Sure the world wide web is great, but you, you make me "salivate"... Yes, I love technology, but not as much as you, you see... But I still love technology... Always and forever. Our love is like a flock of doves, flying up to Heaven above... always and forever, always and forever... Why do you love me? Why do you need me? Always and forever...
Kip - Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Kip isn't the only one that loves technology around here. Though he just has better song writing ability than most us. Today sports fans are the move and sometimes we have to get our sports fix while we're on the road. I'm doing this often while at work or while running errands with the family. Sometimes sitting in front of a tv is just not an option. Luckily you can get tons of sports information right on your cell phone now.
The Android platform has exploded since it's release just two years ago and the number of Android devices is growing on every cell phone carrier. The Android Market is a huge open market where developers post their applications for others to use. Most of the applications are free and some cost a few bucks.
Let's take a look at some of the top Android applications out there for a sports fanatic. Also if you're in the market for an Android phone check out the Galaxy S series from Samsung which has models for every major carrier.
A look at technology Part 1: Jim Carrey was right!
The future is now! Soon every American home will integrate their television, phone and computer. You'll be able to visit the Louvre on one channel, or watch female wrestling on another. You can do your shopping at home, or play Mortal Kombat with a friend from Vietnam. There's no end to the possibilities!- Chip Douglas, The Cable Guy (1996)
Who knew that 14 years ago Jim Carrey would make a dark comedy that most people didn't like but would still predict the future. While I'm still waiting for that female mud wrestling channel to be created, I'm still amazed at how quickly technology has developed over the past decade and a half.
First there was the internet, then fast Internet, and then you could access the Internet from your phone. Now the convenience of web surfing and other tools came to your mobile device. Now the best of these two facets is coming to the place where spend most of your weekends: your television.
Let's take a look back at what Wyoming fans would have to deal with before some of these latest advancements in technology.
As a side note: if you haven't seen The Cable Guy before you must watch it. If you watched it a long time and didn't like it then give it another shot.
