So here's a head scratcher. This article documents our Redskins' legend Nick Sundberg's long history of playing through all kinds of injuries and ailments.
Then the article mentions something odd. Last season Nick battled staph infection. What? Our snapper had an infection that is most commonly transmitted by touching the same surfaces as someone with staph (or by direct human contact) and is most frequently spread in areas used by many people, such as locker rooms. That's the guy we had handling the ball!? Whoa!
Sundberg is tough but for my money he doesn't displace the guy on the other end of that ball, Sav Rocca, as the toughest guy on our team. (But we already knew that, didn't we?)
Long snapping is an art and Zach Ewan has been practicing his trade for awhile. He is the #2 ranked Long Snapper in the nation and he is headed to Laramie next year.
Ewan will play in the Under Armour All-America Game on Wednesday. Article does a great job detailing the performance by Ewan and how hard it can be to become a great long snapper. Sounds like he will be a great part of the Special Forces at Wyoming for four years.
