Cowboys turn the pressure up on Broncos

The full court-press defense worked wonders for the Wyoming Cowboys in the second consecutive game. The Cowboys (2-1) forced 23 turnovers in 86-61 romp over the Boise State Broncos at home.

Last year Boise won on a last second layup to win the game. This game was never that close as Wyoming led 40-31 at the half and then went on a 22-5 run to put the game out of reach.

Djibril Thiam had the hot hand shooting 9 of 11 for 19 points and a team high 7 rebounds. Afam Muojeke followed with 18 points on 4 of 6 shooting from long range. Adam Waddel returned to the starting lineup and put up 16 points. Desmar Jackson filled in for Jayder Luster and dished out 7 assists to go with 11 points. The Cowboys shot 54% from the field as a team.

The Broncos (2-2) were abysmal from 3pt range hitting only 2 of their 20 attempts. La'shard Anderson led the team with 19 points. Former Cowboy Ike Okoye had 8/7 on the night.

Really expected this game to be much closer but it seems like the Cowboys have found their groove early in the season. The full court-press is giving other teams fits and the Cowboys are making the most of their opponents mistakes.

Next game: First road game of season as the Cowboys head down I-25 to take on the University of Denver on Wednesday 11/25.
