The New Mexico Lobos (22-3, 9-2) are currently sitting atop the Mountain West and ranked #12 in the nation. Meanwhile the Wyoming Cowboys (9-16,2-9) have lost five in a row and eight of nine. When these two teams met in Laramie the Lobos escaped with a 70-68 victory. With the hot streak the Lobos are on it's doubtful this next game will be as close.
Darington Hobson has been the man for the Lobos this season and currently leads the team in points, rebounds and assists -15/8/4. Ramon Martinez is knocking down 43% of his three pointers and averaging nearly 14 points a game. A.J. Hardeman led the Lobos with 18 points in the previous matchup.
Desmar Jackson has been the only bright spot for the Cowboys recently. The freshman guard is averaging 10 points on season and has scored 21 or more in three of his last six games. Big Adam Waddell was hitting the boards strong but has been hampered ever since he suffered ankle and knee injuries in a win over Utah two weeks ago.
The Pit is one of the toughest arenas to play in the country. Lobo fans are intense and have helped the team to a 14-1 record at home this season. It will be pretty hard for the Cowboys to have much a shot in this one.
