North Florida uses late surge to knockoff Cowboys 76-60

Wyoming seemed to be in control of this game despite missing their top two scorers.  The North Florida Osprey (1-2) had other plans by going on a 28-6 streak over the last 12 minutes of the game.  The Cowboys (1-2) were without key players Afam Muojeke and Desmar Jackson due to a one game suspension for a violation of team rules.

Andres Diaz had a huge night the Osprey with 23 points and 11 rebounds.  Diaz was 10 of 13 from the field and three of six from the stripe.  Charles McRoy and Parker each added a bakers dozen to the effort.  The Osprey out rebounded the Pokes 34-28 and forced 16 Wyoming turnovers.

Obviously the loss of Jackson and Muojeke was huge for the Cowboys.  They started off strong but lost momentum as the game played out.  Turnovers were costly and Wyoming took 17 less shots in the game.  Arthur Bouedo stepped for the the first time this year, he totaled 11 points and hit three treys.  He nearly tripled his scoring out from the first two games combined.  JayDee Luster got the start at PG and played fairly well.  Luster led the team with 13 points and went 9 of 11 on free throws.

Djibril Thiam had his streak of double digit scoring broken tonight with his 9 points.  Amath M'Baye also had 9 points and led the Pokes with 6 rebounds.  This could have been a great win if Wyoming could have held on in the second half.  This not the start that Schroyer or his team were hoping for this year.

On Saturday Wyoming will host the Western Illinois Leathernecks(2-1) who look to be for real. They won their first two games and then lost to #15 Missouri 66-61.  The return of Jackson and Muojeke will provide a big boost to the Pokes would take a big hit if they drop to 1-3.

Cowboy Joe:  This has to be shared by Arthur Bouedo and Jaydee Luster who both their best game this year by far.  Hopefully they can build on this momentum.

Cowboy Low:  Not sure what Jackson and Muojeke did to be suspended but it cost them each a game this year and was a big contributor to a loss for the team.

Cowboy Foe:  Andres Diaz looked a superstar against Wyoming with his 23 point 11 rebound effort.  He couldn't be stopped by any Wyoming defenders.
