Wyoming gains tall WR from Texas

New, 1 comment

Kevin Robertson is a big wide receiver at 6-4 208lbs and comes from the big State of Texas.  However he plays for a small private school which may be why the three star recruit was passed over by some bigger schools.  Robertson visited Laramie over the weekend and committed during his trip.  His only other offer was from North Texas but he also had interest from TCU, Oklahoma State and Kansas.

He fits the mold of former Poke wideout David Leonard or current WR/TE T.J. Smith with nice size and hands but not blazing speed.  Looks like a very solid target who does a great job of coming down with pretty anything thrown his way.  On the year he had 1490 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. He is the eighth player from Texas in the Cowboy 2011 recruiting class which now has 23 members.

This gives Wyoming their tallest receiver in this recruiting class and also their eighth three star recruit of the 2011 class.  The Pokes had a total of 10 three star recruits in the first two classes under Coach Christensen so it is evident this looks to be his strongest recruiting class by far. National signing day is Wednesday, February 2nd.
