Former Wyoming Cowboy Wynel Seldon was drafted 40th overall yesterday by the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL. The expansion team is coached by Marty Schottenheimer. Seldon went undrafted out of college in 2009 but signed with the Washington Redskins as a free agent.

Seldon was a steady performer for the Cowboys from 2005-08, rushing for 22 career touchdowns. He ran for 637 yards and two touchdowns as a senior in 2008, including a 124-yard, one-touchdown effort against San Diego State. As a freshman in 2005, Seldon ran for 871 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught 27 passes for 198 yards.
Seldon is a powerful runner and teamed up with Devin Moore to create the Wyoming running back duo known as "Thunder and Lightning". Moore is now with the Indianapolis Colts as a kick returner. With Virginia being an expansion team it should give Seldon a solid shot at picking up some carries. The Destroyers also drafted former Chicago Bear RB Adrian Peterson (the one from Georgia Southern).
