Last week the Pokes got a verbal commitment from an intriguing offensive linemen from Germany. Wyoming has had great success in finding talent from Germany under Dave Christensen. I wasn't able to find any information on Fabian Holler other then his Rivals listing.
The reason why is because his name was misspelled in the translation from German to English. His real name is Fabien Höller but since we don't use the umlaut in English the last name is actually translated to Hoeller.
Thanks to a German reader of the site I was given the correct spelling and some more information on Fabian Hoeller. We even have highlights now. Hooray!
Hoeller is currently 19 years old and will turn 20 in September. This should allow him four years of eligibility with the Cowboys. He played for the AFC Koeln Falcons of the GFL 2, which is based in Cologne, Germany.
It appears that Hoeller is a very versatile athlete as well. He has played all three linemen spots: center, guard and tackle. He has also been a three year starter for the Falcons and played for the German National Team in 2011.
In most of the highlights he lines up at guard or tackle. If you watch at the 54 second spot he shows off some very good quickness and agility off the snap. He moves very well for someone that is 6-4 285lb.
I certainly feel better knowing that we have some highlights to along with the future Cowboy. Post up your thoughts on Hoeller.
