Coach Christensen Really Wants Things To Be Faster

New, 5 comments

Coach Christensen has one goal in mind for spring practice.

The key word that you will hear this spring from Coach Christensen is "faster". He wants everything to be done faster and he is really serious about. I'm not kidding, he wants everything done at full speed at all possible times.

Here are some his quotes after the first practice on Tuesday:

"We're practicing faster. We've always practiced a lot of reps around here, but we want to practice even faster this year," Christensen commented. "We want to practice faster than anyone in the country. We didn't today, but we will. They will learn from this, and we will be much faster tomorrow."

On Wednesday the team suited again.

Here were the thoughts from Christensen:

Christensen was asked specifically if he was pleased with his team's adaptation to a faster practice pace this spring.

"They weren't used to it yesterday, but it is going to get a lot faster," said Christensen. "It was faster today and it is going to get a lot faster. We still want to quicken the pace more than we're going right now. The speed of running plays allows us to get more plays in each practice. I think we ran 130 plays today.

He won't be happy till the teams run 1300 plays in practice!

In fact Christensen has made it a point to only order from Jimmy Johns for lunch this semester. He also brushes his teeth while showering now to save time.

Here are few other things that Coach Christensen loves:

  • Favorite Movie: Tie betweem The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast and Furious, Fast Five
  • Favorite Book: Cliff Notes
  • Favorite Fast Food: Wendy's - They have the fastest drive thru.
  • Favorite Song: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk

  • Favorite Cartoon Character: Speedy Gonzalez
  • Favorite Mode of transportation: Speed of Light
  • Favorite Bird: Peregrine Falcon

Apparently there has also been a Starbucks built in the indoor practice facility to provide caffeine at a moments notice.

Feel free to add your own "favorites" in the comments.
